Yay, the interview of the month May is finally up! Every month we talk with a fellow traveler and ask them some questions about their experiences, and of course we feature some of their amazing travel pictures with the interview. This time we had a little chat with Denise Dewaele- Leijser from Travel With Denise.

CHAPTERTRAVEL: Hi Denise. How exciting to have you as traveler of the month. We know you love to travel and that you mostly love luxury and comfort whilst doing so. But we would love to learn a bit more about you, can you tell a bit about yourself in a short introduction? What drives you to travel and write about it? 

Denise: Thank you so much for this opportunity. My name is Denise, 29 years old and living in The Netherlands. When I was younger I always traveled a lot with my parents. So that’s why I love to travel the world, learn about other cultures and see amazing things! Many people ask me for advice, that’s why I created my own website: Travel With Denise.

Thanks Denise. You’ve just visited New York City! Do you have any must see’s or must do’s for our readers?

Oh yes! New York is my absolutely number one favorite city! Rent a beach cruiser to cross the Brooklyn Bridge, visit the 911 memorial and museum and visit the observatory of the One World Trade Center. Also a must do; Little Italy. The food is great, a very special place!

 

Sounds good! What is the favorite place that you’ve ever traveled to?

That’s too difficult… I don’t have one favorite place. I love Cuba, Thailand, Mexico, United States of America, but also other Caribbean destinations. Haha it’s too difficult, every place has something I like.

Can you name five places in the world where you haven’t been, but really want to go?

  1. South Africa
  2. Malaysia
  3. Brazil
  4. Iceland
  5. Nepal

What is the strangest thing that has ever happened to you while traveling?

When my boyfriend asked me to marry him at a beach in Jamaica. Wow, I never expected that. But it was so beautiful and off course I said YES!

You say you mostly like luxury and comfort. Do you maybe have some tips for people who like this as well, but don’t want to spend too much money?

Book early… That’s my only advice.

Who do you travel with?

Most of the time with my husband, once a year with my best friend and with my dearest family!
