Every month, Lisanne will interview a fellow traveller about their travels. Today we can finally publish our first interview with our first traveler of the month! This time we’re talking with the person behind Monique Trips. Meet Monique Miranda, the beautiful Brazilian traveler! I love your Instagram account @monique_trips and I’ve visited your website where you have some lovely travel pictures. I know you are Brazilian, that you graduated in law and that you are in love with photography, travel and extreme adventures. But that’s as much as I know right now, so…

Maybe you can first give a short introduction about yourself before we start the questions?

Monique: Hello guys! My name is Monique Miranda. I’m Brazilian, 30 years old, single, living in the city of Belo Horizonte with my parents. I’ve been to more than 50 countries. My Instagram account @monique_trips shows that I’m a travelblogger who started traveling very young, and want to explore more places each day.

Thank you for your introduction! So let’s start this interview. 

You’ve already traveled to a lot of amazing places. What’s the favorite place that you’ve travelled to?

Maldives Island. 

Can you name five places in the world where you haven’t been, but really want to go?

Greece, South Africa, Bora Bora, Egypt and Fiji.

When did you decide to start your website? 

I started my blog this year. The idea came because my friends always asked me to share my travels from around the world and to share tips and the beautiful places I’ve been.

On your website I read that you grew up next to Waimiris Amazon Indians/Atroaris. Can you tell something about that?

It was incredible! I had the chance to grow up in a small town with new cultures.

How do you combine work and travel?

It’s really hard to do both things, but my father is my boss in our business. So he let’s me travel when I want.

That’s convenient! What kind of company do you and your dad work at?

My dad is the owner of certain properties, so he’s in real estate. J&M Empreendimentos is the name of the company.

Since you have a law degree, do you practice law? 

I don’t practice law, but I’m happy with my job.

Do you have some tips for fellow travelbloggers for their blog?

When you write a blog, try to write about things you need to know when you visit a place.

What is your favorite picture on your Instagram feed?

My favorite Instagram picture is taken in Phi Phi Island – Thailand [Maya Bay, the location of the movie The Beach, ed.].

What is your next travel destination?

Curacao [Monique is currently in Curacao, ed.], Hong Kong, China, Japan and Australia.
